Job Overview: The Information and Computer Security Officer (Technical Lead) will play a crucial role in coordinating and implementing information and computer security activities within the IAEA's nuclear security program. This position requires a deep understanding of the nuclear security landscape and the ability to respond to the needs of member states as identified in Integrated Nuclear Security Sustainability Plans. The officer will be responsible for developing and implementing internal information and IT security activities, ensuring alignment with IAEA policies and procedures. This role also involves serving as a technical lead, overseeing the design and delivery of security activities, and acting as a scientific secretary for international meetings related to computer security in the nuclear sector. The officer will need to maintain effective communication with various stakeholders, including member states and international organizations, to enhance cooperation and information exchange in nuclear security.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Information and Computer Security Officer will have a wide range of responsibilities, including:
Coordinating and providing technical input to the information and computer security team.
Leading the development of the information and computer security program of activities, particularly in response to requests from member states.
Developing guidance documents within the IAEA Nuclear Security Series to support member states in enhancing their information and computer security.
Providing expert support to member states in establishing effective information and computer security measures.
Conducting training, workshops, and seminars to build capacity in information and computer security among member states.
Designing and delivering specific information and computer security activities for member states.
Representing the IAEA at national and international meetings, establishing relationships with relevant organizations and committees.
Conducting information and computer security assessment missions and International Physical Protection Advisory Service (IPPAS) missions as required.
Serving as the Divisional Information Security Officer, coordinating the Division's information and IT security program in alignment with IAEA standards.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in information science, computer science, nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or related fields. Alternatively, a university degree in these fields combined with two additional years of relevant experience may be considered. A minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience in computer security within the nuclear field is required, including technical leadership roles. Experience working at nuclear facilities or in nuclear operations is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, technical writing abilities, and experience in leading large-scale meetings or conferences. Excellent oral and written command of English is mandatory, and knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is considered an asset.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in fields such as information science, computer science, nuclear science, or nuclear engineering. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in these areas may be considered if they have two additional years of relevant experience. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of information and computer security within the nuclear sector.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience, particularly in the area of computer security within the nuclear field. Additional Notes: The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $86,027, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance. Additional benefits include a variable post adjustment, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses, and six weeks of annual leave.
