Job Overview:
The Fund Raising Officer (Acquisition) is positioned within the Acquisition unit of Individual Giving and plays a crucial role in executing UNICEF's strategy to expand its donor base and drive sustainable revenue growth. This position focuses on funnel-based marketing and audience segmentation, supporting the development and execution of targeted acquisition campaigns, particularly across digital channels. The officer will manage agency relationships, conduct market research, and optimize lead generation and conversion efforts to ensure that acquisition strategies are data-informed and audience-centric. The role involves close collaboration with the marketing team and monitoring of campaign performance to enhance donor engagement and achieve ambitious fundraising targets under the 2026–2030 strategy. The officer will be responsible for planning and executing donor acquisition campaigns, monitoring their performance, researching target audiences, and collaborating with the marketing team on acquisition efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The major responsibilities of the Fund Raising Officer (Acquisition) include:
  • Supporting the development of donor acquisition strategies that align with UNICEF’s mission and goals.
  • Assisting in planning and coordinating the execution of donor acquisition campaigns to effectively engage potential donors.
  • Coordinating testing plans to build insights and optimize campaigns.
  • Monitoring campaign performance to evaluate the effectiveness of acquisition strategies against KPIs and targets.
  • Tracking campaign budgets, including media spend.
  • Researching and identifying potential target audiences to expand UNICEF's donor base.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team and Individual Giving team to align donor acquisition efforts with broader marketing strategies.
  • Managing relationships and projects with external agencies as required.
  • Supporting the development of investment plans and business cases as needed. 1
  • Providing technical expertise in donor acquisition tools and techniques. Key expected deliverables include effective development and execution of donor acquisition campaigns, increased donor base through successful campaigns, comprehensive reports analyzing campaign performance, and enhanced collaboration within the fundraising team.

Required Qualifications:
The minimum requirements for this position include:
  • A first level university degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. Additional training in a related field is an asset.
  • A minimum of one year of progressively responsible work experience in fundraising, with a focus on donor acquisition, and a proven track record of successful donor acquisition initiatives.
  • Experience in similar mission-driven or customer acquisition fields such as commercial marketing or digital advertising is an asset.
  • Experience working with and managing external vendors or agencies, ensuring high-quality delivery and performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of at least three key acquisition channels, including Digital, is essential.
  • Experience in A/B testing and performance optimization for fundraising or sales campaigns.
  • Exposure to the private sector and cross-sector partnerships is desirable.
  • Previous managerial experience is an asset.
  • A proactive approach with a growth mindset is essential.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a first level university degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. Additional training in a related field is considered an asset, indicating a preference for candidates who have pursued further education or specialized training relevant to the role.

Experience:
The level of experience needed for this position includes a minimum of one year of progressively responsible work experience in fundraising, specifically focusing on donor acquisition. Candidates should have a proven track record of successful donor acquisition initiatives and experience in similar mission-driven or customer acquisition fields. Experience in managing external vendors or agencies is also required, along with knowledge of key acquisition channels and performance optimization techniques.

Languages:
Fluency in Thai and English is required, both written and spoken. A valid TOEIC score of at least 855 in the Listening and Reading sections is necessary. Knowledge of another official UN language such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile for this position.
