Job Overview:
The (Associate) Investment Officer position within the Private Equity Funds team at IFC is crucial for assessing fund managers in the Middle East & Central Asia and Europe regions. The primary responsibility of this role is to determine if these fund managers meet IFC’s investment criteria, which includes evaluating financial returns, development impact, and adherence to environmental and social responsibility standards. The role also involves conducting portfolio supervision, which is essential for ensuring that investments align with IFC’s strategic priorities and objectives. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct detailed financial, operational, and market analyses to evaluate investment opportunities, lead the structuring and negotiation of investment transactions, and prepare high-quality investment proposals for internal committees. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive due diligence and adherence to sustainability principles, as well as monitoring portfolio funds and performance to identify and resolve issues effectively. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the (Associate) Investment Officer include conducting detailed financial, operational, and market analyses to evaluate investment opportunities in alignment with IFC’s strategic priorities. The officer will lead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of private equity fund investment transactions, ensuring compliance with IFC policies and industry best practices. Additionally, the officer will prepare high-quality investment proposals and presentations for internal committees, ensuring clarity and rigor. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including legal, environmental, and social specialists, is essential to ensure comprehensive due diligence and adherence to IFC’s sustainability principles. The officer will also monitor portfolio funds and performance, conducting regular reviews and valuations, identifying and resolving issues, and coordinating internally on portfolio decisions. Taking limited partner advisory committee positions in portfolio funds as an IFC representative is also part of the role. The officer will represent IFC at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance visibility and promote IFC’s mission and values. Furthermore, the officer will work on departmental assignments relating to global portfolio and corporate strategy as needed.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the (Associate) Investment Officer position include an advanced degree (Master's or equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field from a reputable institution. Candidates must have at least six years of professional experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate finance, or management consulting, with a demonstrated track record of executing complex financial transactions. Proven experience in structuring and negotiating investment transactions is essential, along with strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
