This position involves a variety of logistical, operational, and technical tasks that are essential for ensuring the smooth functioning of the event. The intern will assist in organizing event logistics, coordinating with both internal teams and external partners, and providing daily operational support during the preparation phase and throughout the conference. The role requires the intern to contribute to background research, manage information, and provide technical assistance related to the event delivery. The Local Administration Team, under the leadership of the Principal Administration Manager, is responsible for the operational, logistical, and administrative support necessary for the successful organization and delivery of the COP31 conference. This team plays a vital role in ensuring that all administrative functions and on-the-ground coordination are executed efficiently, collaborating closely with national authorities, international partners, and conference stakeholders. The intern will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting both planned activities and addressing ad hoc operational needs that may arise leading up to and during the conference.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and operational support to the team on the ground and relevant HQ functions to facilitate the smooth planning and delivery of the COP31 event. Key responsibilities include working closely with internal colleagues and external stakeholders, including service providers and partner institutions, to support coordination and information flow. The intern will assist with logistical coordination and day-to-day administrative tasks related to COP31 preparation and implementation, which includes documentation management, scheduling, and meeting coordination. Additionally, the intern will provide occasional administrative and coordination support to other related project activities and workstreams as needed. The role also involves monitoring relevant developments and operational updates related to COP31 planning and implementation, attending internal and external meetings or events, and providing brief summaries or notes to support team coordination. The intern will contribute to effective communication and coordination across teams by helping track actions, maintain documentation, and support information management processes.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate fluency in English, with excellent writing skills and a keen eye for detail. Strong communication skills are essential, as the intern must be able to convey appropriate, concise, and accurate information in both verbal and written formats tailored to the audience.
