Job Overview: The Research Analyst position in Information Technology within the Health sector at UNDP is designed to support the organization's mission by providing analytical insights and technical expertise. The role involves conducting research and analysis on health-related IT initiatives, assessing the impact of technology on health systems, and contributing to the development of innovative solutions that enhance healthcare delivery. The Research Analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare providers, and technology partners, to ensure that IT solutions are effectively integrated into health programs. The position requires a strong understanding of both health systems and information technology, as well as the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively. The Research Analyst will also be responsible for preparing reports, presentations, and recommendations based on their findings, and will play a key role in supporting project implementation and evaluation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on the use of information technology in health systems, identifying best practices and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with health sector stakeholders to gather data and insights on current IT initiatives and their impact on health outcomes.
Develop analytical reports and presentations that summarize research findings and provide actionable recommendations.
Assist in the design and implementation of IT solutions that address specific health challenges, ensuring alignment with national health strategies.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of IT interventions in health programs, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions for health professionals on the use of technology in healthcare delivery.
Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in health IT, and assess their potential applications within the UNDP framework.
Support the procurement process for IT-related services and products, ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide insights.
Proficiency in research methodologies and data analysis tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to diverse audiences.
Familiarity with health systems and the role of technology in improving health outcomes.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data visualization tools.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in Public Health, Information Technology, Health Informatics, or a related field is required. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field may be considered with additional experience.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in research, analysis, or project management within the health sector or information technology is required. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is an advantage. Proven experience in conducting research and producing analytical reports is essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly local languages spoken in Pakistan, is considered an asset.
Additional Notes: This position is offered as an individual contractor role with a contract duration of 205 days spread over 12 months. The position is full-time and requires the contractor to be available for the duration of the assignment. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role may involve travel within Pakistan as needed to engage with stakeholders and support project implementation.
