Job Overview: The Project Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Director of the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe and the Head of the Sarajevo Antenna. The role involves supporting the coordination and management of projects related to the Culture sector, focusing on monitoring and evaluation in alignment with the 2030 Agenda. The incumbent will be expected to contribute to the development and implementation of UNESCO's cultural programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina and other member states, ensuring that projects promote culture for development. This includes analyzing contexts, making recommendations, and managing project activities effectively. The position requires strong communication skills to facilitate visibility and impact of the projects, as well as the ability to prepare various public information products and participate in relevant conferences and workshops.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the development and implementation of UNESCO's cultural program in Bosnia and Herzegovina and other member states, focusing on context analysis and project recommendations.
Ensure timely and effective management of projects, aligning with approved work plans and budgets, and support project review meetings.
Facilitate communication and visibility of project results, adhering to UNESCO's communication procedures and donor guidelines.
Prepare public information products, including news items, social media posts, and outreach materials.
Draft correspondence, presentations, and speeches, and actively participate in national and international events related to the projects.
Collaborate with multicultural teams and stakeholders to achieve project objectives and ensure effective implementation of activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in cultural studies, media studies, management, international relations, communication, or related fields. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (BA) combined with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is acceptable. Candidates should have a strong understanding of cultural cooperation in South-East Europe, particularly in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and demonstrated experience in project development and management in an international context. Advanced IT skills and the ability to produce quality written outputs are essential.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in cultural studies, media studies, management, international relations, communication, or related fields is required. A first-level university degree (BA) combined with relevant experience may also be considered.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in international cultural cooperation is required, including experience in multi-partner project implementation and management. Candidates with experience working with national or international development cooperation agencies, particularly in UNESCO or the United Nations System, will be preferred.
Languages: Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Proficiency in other official languages of UNESCO (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and/or Spanish) is desirable, as well as the ability to communicate in one of the national languages spoken in the region.
Additional Notes: The position is a project appointment with a duration of 1 year. It is open to both internal and external candidates, but only nationals from Bosnia and Herzegovina may apply. The approximate annual starting salary for this position is 88,123 BAM, and benefits may include 30 days of annual leave, family allowance, medical insurance, and a pension plan. The selection process may involve video interviews, written assessments, and reference checks.
