Job Overview:
The Finance and Operations Manager position at FHI 360 is crucial for the successful management of the EpiC and STRIDES projects in Colombia. The role involves overseeing the financial operations, including budget preparation, administration, and control. The manager will lead a team of financial analysts, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) and other relevant regulations. This position requires a strategic mindset to provide fiscal information to senior management and to assist in the development and management of internal financial audits. The Finance and Operations Manager will also be responsible for developing formal reporting systems to communicate audit results and ensuring that the organization adheres to financial best practices. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance and Operations Manager will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: reviewing and analyzing monthly financial reports, providing recommendations for financial planning and compliance, participating in annual budget planning and audit reviews, and engaging in critical financial analysis. The manager will also mentor staff on financial policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to GAAP practices. Additional duties include managing the financial analyst staff, developing and implementing financial controls, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of trends in financial accounting. The role requires the ability to handle confidential data and to provide strategic leadership and advice to the team, fostering collaboration within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a comprehensive knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures, along with excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational and presentation skills are essential, as well as demonstrated project management capabilities. The ideal candidate will have the ability to influence and negotiate effectively, and must be well-versed in state and federal laws impacting financial analysis and management controls. Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations, automated financial reporting, and government accounting practices is also required. Candidates should have a strong understanding of GAAP practices and reporting guidelines, along with excellent supervisory and managerial skills.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's Degree or its international equivalent is required for this position. The educational background should ideally be in finance, accounting, or a related field that provides the necessary knowledge and skills for effective financial management.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5-8 years of related work experience, including at least 3 years in a management role and 3 years working at the corporate or organizational level. Experience managing a financial analysis department is essential, as is a background in working with international non-governmental organizations (INGOs).

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as candidates must be able to read, write, and speak the language proficiently. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in Bogotá, Colombia, and is expected to involve less than 10% travel. The expected hiring salary range for this role is COP 130,000,000 - 170,000,000 annually.
