Job Overview:
As a Project Analyst at ADB, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD) by providing analytical and administrative support to ensure the successful development outcomes of ADB's private sector operations. Your responsibilities will include contributing to the monitoring and reporting of development effectiveness, preparing essential documents such as design and monitoring frameworks, and conducting economic evaluations of projects. You will also be involved in data management and visualization, ensuring that ADB's projects align with its policies and strategies. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to fostering positive change in the Asia-Pacific region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your duties as a Project Analyst will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including:
  • Development Effectiveness Support: Assisting PSOD's project teams in defining suitable indicators for measuring development results, preparing and reviewing design and monitoring frameworks, and managing staff consultant contracts.
  • Development Effectiveness Monitoring and Reporting: Documenting and aggregating development effectiveness data, maintaining compliance records, preparing internal reports, and visualizing data for presentations.
  • Economic Evaluation of Projects: Supporting the preparation of economic analyses for infrastructure projects, conducting sector and background research, and coordinating contributions to reports.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Participating in sector and thematic networks to stay updated on relevant developments and issues.

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, business administration, or a related field. Additionally, you should have at least 5 years of professional experience, preferably in cost-benefit analysis and development impact assessments. A strong understanding of development effectiveness concepts, project preparation, and economic terms is essential. You should also have excellent analytical skills, particularly in Excel and data visualization, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as economics, finance, or business administration. Advanced degrees or certifications in these areas may be advantageous but are not mandatory.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, particularly in areas related to cost-benefit analysis, development impact assessments, and economic evaluations. Experience in working with multilateral development banks or similar organizations is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

This position is a fixed-term appointment for an initial period of 3 years, with the possibility of extension for up to 2 years or conversion to a regular appointment based on performance and organizational needs.
