Job Overview: The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in the development and daily operations of a significant project focused on nutrition and food security in Myanmar. This position involves providing strategic input to ensure that project activities align with the established Project Document and implementation modalities. The coordinator will lead the UN-Nutrition Secretariat, fostering collaboration among UN agencies and partners to address malnutrition effectively. The role requires close partnership with technical leads from various organizations to facilitate multi-sectoral collaboration and policy coherence. The Project Coordinator will also be responsible for strategic planning, partnership development, and resource mobilization to support joint activities related to nutrition. Additionally, the coordinator will represent UN-Nutrition in high-level advocacy platforms, ensuring that nutrition is integrated into national policies and programs. The position demands strong leadership and coordination skills to manage project activities, budget planning, and compliance with donor regulations, ultimately aiming to strengthen the nutrition ecosystem in Myanmar.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Coordinator will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Providing strategic input to ensure project activities align with the Project Document.
Leading the UN-Nutrition Secretariat and ensuring coherence among member agencies.
Facilitating multi-sectoral collaboration and policy coherence in addressing malnutrition.
Strengthening linkages with nutrition and food security focal points from various stakeholders.
Leading strategic planning, partnership development, and resource mobilization efforts.
Representing UN-Nutrition in high-level advocacy platforms.
Coordinating field project activities and facilitating capacity-building workshops.
Developing and submitting detailed monthly work and budget plans.
Overseeing activity budgeting, human resources, and procurement planning. 1
Supporting compliance with project results and evaluation targets. 1
Documenting lessons learned and coordinating with communication specialists for project reporting. 1
Coordinating with DIEM and MEAL teams for data and survey processes. 1

Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Policy, Public Administration, Nutrition, Health, Environmental, Agriculture, or a related field, preferably with a major in Conflict Resolution. Additionally, candidates should have at least 10 years of practical experience, with a minimum of 7 years in managing projects and teams. A working knowledge of English at level C is also required, and candidates must be Myanmar nationals.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Policy, Public Administration, Nutrition, Health, Environmental, Agriculture, or a related discipline. A specialization in Conflict Resolution or a closely related area is preferred, indicating a strong foundation in addressing complex issues related to nutrition and food security.
Experience: The position requires significant experience, specifically at least 10 years of practical experience in relevant fields. Out of these, a minimum of 7 years should be dedicated to managing projects and teams, demonstrating a strong capability in overseeing complex initiatives and leading diverse groups towards common goals. Experience with UN agencies and internationally funded projects is highly valued.
Languages: A working knowledge of English at level C is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly those relevant to the local context in Myanmar, would be considered an asset, enhancing communication and collaboration with various stakeholders.
