Job Overview:
The Nutrition Specialist position is integral to the FAO's project aimed at catalyzing coherent nutrition action through advocacy, learning, and partnerships. This role involves assisting in the development and daily operations of project activities, ensuring alignment with the project document and implementation modalities. The specialist will work closely with various stakeholders, including UN agencies, government ministries, and local partners, to enhance multisectoral nutrition governance. The position requires a proactive approach to coordination and collaboration, ensuring that all activities are effectively planned and executed to address malnutrition and food insecurity in Myanmar. The specialist will also play a key role in integrating nutritional indicators into emergency monitoring exercises, thereby contributing to evidence-based programming and policy development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Nutrition Specialist will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including providing strategic input to the project's technical aspects, assisting in the overall coordination of the UN-Nutrition Secretariat, and supporting the National Project Coordinator in fostering partnerships among various stakeholders. The specialist will also provide operational and administrative support for joint UN-Nutrition activities, manage visibility materials, and contribute to the preparation of reports and proposals. Additionally, the role involves coordinating field project activities, facilitating workshops and meetings, ensuring compliance with financial procedures, and monitoring fund utilization. The specialist will also support data collection efforts and contribute to the development of new project proposals as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Nutrition, Health, Environmental Science, Agriculture, or a related field, preferably with a focus on stakeholder relations or data analysis. A minimum of 8 years of practical experience is required, with at least 5 years dedicated to project implementation and team assistance. Candidates should have a working knowledge of English and be nationals of Myanmar. Core competencies expected include results focus, teamwork, communication, relationship building, and knowledge sharing.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Nutrition, Health, Environmental Science, or Agriculture is mandatory. The degree should be obtained from an institution recognized by the World Higher Education Database (WHED).

Experience:
The position requires at least 8 years of practical experience in relevant fields, with a significant portion of that time spent in project management and implementation. Experience working with UN agencies, particularly in food security and nutrition, is highly desirable. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing programs, budgets, and reporting for internationally funded projects, as well as experience in stakeholder engagement and collaboration with high-level counterparts.

Languages:
A working knowledge of English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the region may be considered an asset, although not explicitly required.
