Job Overview: The Case Aide plays a crucial role in providing trauma-informed services to refugees and other qualified immigrants, ensuring they have a positive resettlement experience and can achieve self-sufficiency. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at meeting individual client needs and preferences, utilizing a wide range of services including financial, medical, social, vocational, and other resources. The Case Aide supports multiple program areas such as the Resettlement Program, Refugee Social Services (RSS), Youth Program, and Employment Services, making it a multifaceted role that requires adaptability and a strong commitment to client welfare.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Case Aide's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: carrying out timely pre- and post-arrival tasks to ensure clients have essentials like housing, food, medical care, and transportation; supporting RSS case management, youth programs, and employment services by assisting clients with social adjustment, education, workforce readiness, and access to community resources; detailing client interactions in accordance with program requirements; inputting client information into databases and assisting with tracking and reporting; collaborating effectively with coworkers and partner organizations; building and maintaining relationships with area service providers; using personal, insured vehicles or public transportation to travel and transport clients and materials; and potentially providing interpretation services. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess a high school diploma, with a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field preferred. A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations. Candidates must demonstrate strong relationship-building, diplomacy, and networking skills, with the ability to effectively build internal and external relationships. Successful candidates will have experience working and communicating effectively in a multicultural environment, be self-starters with excellent problem-solving skills, and have the ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively. Attention to detail and accuracy in work product is essential.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma as a minimum, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field. This educational foundation is important for understanding the complexities of social services and the needs of the client population.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations. This experience is critical for understanding the unique challenges faced by these groups and for providing effective support and services.
Languages: Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages spoken by the client group is highly desired, as it enhances communication and support for clients from diverse backgrounds.
Additional Notes: The working environment for this position includes a combination of standard office settings, remote work, and field time within the service delivery area. The role may require occasional weekend and/or evening work to meet client needs. Compensation for this position ranges from $19.00 to $21.00 per hour, with pay rates based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.
