Job Overview:
The Logistics Tools and Methods Officer will work under the supervision of the Logistics Tools and Methods Service Manager. The primary mission of this role is to conduct controls during operational processes or retrospectively, aimed at improving the compliance of Action contre la Faim's logistics activities. The officer will be involved in validating purchases and supplies in the field, ensuring that logistics practices, processes, and frameworks comply with specific donor regulations. Additionally, the officer will participate in preparing donor audits at headquarters, carry out internal control actions on logistics activities, and engage in cross-functional activities within the service. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and addressing logistical issues, ensuring that all operations align with the organization's standards and donor requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing logistics procedures and documents to identify dysfunctions or issues and proposing solutions and recommendations.
  • Interpreting contractual documents from donors and suppliers to ensure clarity and compliance.
  • Collaborating with team members and other departments to foster a cohesive working environment and improve logistics operations.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Logistics Tools and Methods Officer position should possess a background in Logistics or Purchasing. They must have experience in humanitarian logistics within an international NGO, either at headquarters or in the field. A strong understanding of humanitarian purchasing processes and Office tools is essential. The candidate should be capable of analyzing logistics procedures and documents, identifying dysfunctions or issues, and proposing effective solutions and recommendations. Familiarity with the Link tool is considered an advantage. The candidate must also demonstrate the ability to interpret contractual documents from donors and suppliers accurately.

Educational Background:
Candidates should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Logistics or Purchasing. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of logistics operations within a humanitarian context and for effectively managing the responsibilities associated with the position.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have relevant experience in humanitarian logistics, ideally within an international NGO setting. This experience should encompass both operational and strategic aspects of logistics management, ensuring that the candidate is well-equipped to handle the challenges of the role.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position, given the international nature of the work environment. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered a plus, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position classified as a cadre integrated role, with a permanent contract (CDI). The job is based in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis). The salary ranges from €37,000 to €44,000 gross annually, depending on experience, with an additional seniority bonus after three years of service at headquarters. Employees are entitled to 25 days of paid leave and 21 days of RTT (reduction of working time). Health coverage and insurance are provided, with 80% of costs covered by Action contre la Faim. There are also provisions for salary maintenance during illness, maternity, and paternity leave. Transportation costs are partially reimbursed, and meal vouchers are provided with a 60% contribution from the organization. The position allows for remote work, with no mandatory in-person presence except for collective meetings and events, which are limited to three days per month.
