Job Overview:
The Casework Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing trauma-informed services to refugees and qualified immigrants, ensuring they have a positive resettlement experience and can achieve self-sufficiency. This position involves managing a team that delivers resettlement casework services and requires close collaboration with clients, colleagues, and external partners. The coordinator is responsible for developing individualized service and self-sufficiency plans that align with client needs and preferences, utilizing a wide range of resources including financial, medical, social, and vocational services. Reporting to the program manager for resettlement, the Casework Coordinator is expected to oversee case preparation, service delivery, and compliance with program requirements, ensuring that all clients receive comprehensive support throughout their resettlement journey.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Casework Coordinator's responsibilities encompass several key areas: Core Service Delivery includes coordinating pre-arrival case preparation, ensuring timely provision of core services such as airport pickups and home visits, and collaborating with other departments for effective referrals. In terms of Documentation, Compliance, and Reporting, the coordinator ensures proper oversight of case files, develops necessary documentation procedures, and meets reporting requirements in line with donor and organizational standards. Direct Client Services involve maintaining a manageable caseload, assessing client progress, and modifying service plans as needed. Staff Supervision entails overseeing caseworkers, delegating tasks, evaluating performance, and fostering a supportive team environment. The coordinator may also train volunteers and interns and is responsible for other duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with agency policies and protocols.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Casework Coordinator position must possess a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of 3 years of case management experience in a social services environment is required, particularly with vulnerable or underserved populations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, an ability to promote an organizational culture aligned with IRC’s core values, and proficiency in building relationships across diverse groups. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are essential. The candidate should also have experience working in a multicultural environment and possess strong communication skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of social work principles and practices. This educational foundation is critical for effectively managing casework and providing the necessary support to clients during their resettlement process.

Experience:
The position requires at least 3 years of relevant experience in case management within a social services context. Experience working with vulnerable or underserved populations is highly preferred, as it equips the candidate with the necessary skills and understanding to address the unique challenges faced by refugees and immigrants. The candidate should have a proven track record of successfully managing cases and delivering services that meet the needs of diverse client groups.

Languages:
Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this role. Additionally, bilingual abilities in languages such as Spanish, Dari, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, French, or other languages commonly spoken by refugees and immigrants in Arizona are preferred. Strong cross-cultural understanding and communication skills are essential for effectively engaging with clients from various backgrounds.

Additional Notes:
The working environment for this position includes a combination of standard office settings, remote work, and fieldwork within the service delivery area. The role may require occasional evening or weekend work, and the candidate must be able to lift between 35 to 50 pounds, which may include furniture, household supplies, and food boxes. Compensation for this position is set at a pay range of $25.74 per hour, with specific offers calibrated based on work location, individual experience, and skills.
