Job Overview: The Space TransportationData Processing System Engineer will play a crucial role in the Process Improvement and Intelligent Manufacturing sector within the Directorate of Space Transportation. This position is focused on enhancing the manufacturing, assembly, integration, and logistics processes of European launchers through the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies. The engineer will be responsible for managing and overseeing projects related to space transportation data processing systems, ensuring that they align with organizational goals and are completed efficiently. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders and cross-functional teams to integrate IT solutions seamlessly into existing systems. The engineer will also be tasked with optimizing workflows, conducting data analysis, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, thereby contributing to the overall improvement of processes and systems within the Directorate.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Space Transportation Data Processing System Engineer include: managing and overseeing the implementation of space transportation data processing system projects; ensuring timely and budget-compliant project completion; coordinating with project managers and stakeholders to align strategies; collaborating with cross-functional teams for seamless IT integration; managing the design, development, and maintenance of data processing systems; optimizing engineering workflows to enhance performance and reliability; conducting data analysis to support decision-making; ensuring compliance with ESA and industry standards; providing training and support on information systems; staying updated with advancements in information engineering; assisting in technology evaluation and selection; contributing to continuous improvement initiatives; acting as a data processing expert; and supporting engineers in assessing the applicability of manufacturing technologies.

Proven experience in the design and development of data processing systems, particularly within the space or transportation sector, is essential. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment are also required, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
