Job Overview: The DRC Standby Roster intern will play a crucial role in supporting the deployment of experts to specific UN and DRC missions in the field. The intern will be involved in various tasks, including updating website information, enhancing social media presence, writing and distributing newsletters, and assisting with administrative and financial tasks. Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to: updating and maintaining website content, enhancing the organization's social media presence, writing and distributing quarterly newsletters to roster members, assisting with administrative and financial tasks using Excel and the internal ERP system 'Dynamics' for processing expenses and booking flights, supporting the preparation and facilitation of induction training for new roster members, assisting in the recruitment process by collecting references and onboarding new members, attending briefings and debriefings with roster members before and after deployments, and registering UN requests for deployments and trainings in the 'HERO' database. Additionally, the intern will work on a development project tailored to their competencies and interests, contributing to the overall development of the Standby Roster team.
Required Qualifications: To be eligible for this internship, candidates must demonstrate a strong interest in international affairs and humanitarian assistance. They should have completed at least two years of higher education and be fluent in both spoken and written English. The ability to navigate a challenging environment and manage a variety of complex tasks is essential. Furthermore, candidates must be enrolled in a university throughout the entire internship period, ensuring they can balance their academic commitments with the internship responsibilities.

Interns are expected to work 32 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate study obligations. Although the internship is unpaid, DRC offers 2.08 unpaid vacation days per month, which can be accumulated or taken as earned. Interns will also receive free lunch in the canteen (subject to availability) and can participate in seasonal parties organized by DRC. It is important to note that candidates without the right to work in Denmark will need to apply for the necessary work authorization if selected, which may take up to three months to process.
