Job Posting Organization:
The Office of Supply Chain Management (OSCM) is part of the Department of Operational Support (DOS) within the United Nations. OSCM is dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and responsiveness of supply chain solutions for global partners and clients. The organization encompasses various divisions, including the Logistics Division, Procurement Division, and Global Service Centre, among others. OSCM's mission is to provide comprehensive supply chain management services, which include planning, logistical support, procurement, and advisory services to nearly 100 client entities worldwide. Established to support the operational needs of the UN, OSCM plays a crucial role in ensuring that the organization meets its objectives effectively and efficiently.

Job Overview:
The Project Management Intern will be an integral part of the OSCM team, contributing to various project management activities. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience in talent acquisition, candidate management, and project management, with a focus on data analytics. The intern will be expected to support project planning, scheduling, and documentation, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and on time. The position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with different divisions within the UN, providing insights into the operations of the UN System and enhancing skills in project and program management. The intern will also have the chance to develop and deliver presentations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the overall success of the OSCM's objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including supporting project management activities such as planning, scheduling, and documenting project tasks. They will assist in tracking project progress and ensuring timely completion of deliverables. The intern will manage their time effectively, adapting to changing project requirements and priorities. They will leverage Agile Principles to analyze project tasks and timelines, coordinate weekly updates for key projects, and develop presentations to communicate project updates to management. Additionally, the intern will collaborate with different divisions to meet organizational objectives, translate data results into reports, and prepare meeting agendas and notes. They will also support team members with data cleaning and maintaining databases, create data visualizations, and identify issues while developing solutions using analytical thinking.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the internship, applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program, in their final year of a university degree program, or have recently graduated with a relevant degree. While no prior work experience is required, candidates should possess skills and knowledge that would benefit the UN during their internship. The preferred candidate will have a degree or be pursuing studies in Project Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems Management, or a related field. Proficiency in Office 365 applications, including Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint is essential, along with experience in drafting reports and presentations. Familiarity with data collection, analysis, and visualization is desirable, as is advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Educational Background:
Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements: be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), be in the final academic year of a university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent), or have graduated with a university degree. The preferred educational background includes studies in Project Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems Management, or related fields.

Experience:
While no work experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme, candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently in a complex environment. Experience in using Office 365 applications for document management, drafting reports, and presenting findings is desirable. Familiarity with data analysis tools and experience in data collection and visualization will be considered an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of another official United Nations language, such as French, is desirable and may enhance a candidate's application.
