Job Overview: The Individual Giving Programme Manager (IGPM) will play a crucial role in implementing the UNFPA Individual Giving Programme, which aims to expand the portfolio of individual donors and increase resources through public contributions. The IGPM will work under the supervision of the Chief of the Private Sector & Civil Society Branch, focusing on building partnerships with private stakeholders and mobilizing innovative revenue streams to support UNFPA's operations. This position requires a strategic approach to donor engagement, including the cultivation of one-time givers and the development of a robust base of recurring donors. The IGPM will also be responsible for attracting high-net-worth individuals for major gifts, ensuring that the organization meets its income targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Duties and Responsibilities: The IGPM will be responsible for the following duties:
Implement the Individual Giving Program Strategy for 2026-2029, ensuring accountability and effectiveness in outreach and expansion efforts.
Develop annual plans and priorities to meet income targets and KPIs.
Manage the Individual Giving Programme team, focusing on capacity building and effectiveness.
Lead initiatives to attract and retain individual donors, including major gifts and recurring donations.
Ensure effective communication and governance mechanisms for the Individual Giving Programme.
Coordinate with USA for UNFPA and maintain relationships with local operations.
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising from the general public and fostering partnerships with the private sector at national or international levels.
At least five years of experience managing global or multi-country digital fundraising programs, demonstrating significant revenue growth.
Proven experience in managing teams of fundraisers and using data to drive performance.
Strong diplomacy skills and the ability to navigate complex environments effectively.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present compelling cases for support.
Educational Background: The position requires an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Marketing, Development Economics, Non-Profit Management, or Social Sciences. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of fundraising and partnership development in the context of international development and humanitarian work.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, particularly from the general public and in building partnerships with the private sector. This experience should include at least five years of managing digital fundraising programs across multiple countries, showcasing a track record of significant revenue growth. Additionally, candidates should have experience in leading teams of fundraisers and utilizing data-driven insights to enhance performance and growth.
Languages: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory, as the role requires the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively. A working knowledge of French or Spanish is desirable, as it may enhance communication with diverse stakeholders and broaden the reach of fundraising efforts.
