Job Overview:
The Human Resources Assistant plays a crucial role in coordinating and performing a full range of human resources support functions within the FAO Tanzania office. This position is essential for ensuring quality, transparency, and consistency of data and processes related to human resources management. The Human Resources Assistant will work under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative and the direct supervision of the Assistant FAO Representative (Administration). The role involves close collaboration with colleagues within the Representation office and other FAO offices to provide and coordinate human resources management support. The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for supporting the overall hiring plan for both national and international affiliate workforce, ensuring compliance with current standards and regulations, and facilitating a respectful and harmonious work environment aligned with the organization's values and commitments.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Assistant will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: supporting the overall hiring plan for national and international affiliate workforce; developing and reviewing Terms of Reference for affiliate workforce; coordinating and managing the publication of calls to attract candidates for vacancies; organizing and facilitating the selection process, including coordinating interviews and preparing reports on evaluated candidates; managing the complete cycle of contracts for national and international affiliate workforce in the Global Resource Management System (GRMS); supervising the validity of contracts and taking appropriate measures for renewal or termination; providing administrative support, including recording worked hours for payment of fees to consultants; collaborating in implementing actions to promote a respectful work environment; facilitating knowledge exchange and best practices; assisting in the performance evaluation process of consultants; ensuring confidentiality in handling personnel records; and performing additional duties as assigned in support of HR operations and office priorities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements: a university degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field; four years of relevant experience in administrative and/or human resources support work, with at least two years in HR management; and a working knowledge (proficient - level C) of English and Swahili. Additionally, candidates must be nationals of the United Republic of Tanzania or residents of the country with a valid work permit.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or any other related field. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of human resources management and administrative support functions within the organization.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant experience in administrative and/or human resources support work, with at least two years specifically in HR management. This level of experience is necessary to ensure that the candidate is well-versed in the various aspects of human resources operations and can effectively contribute to the FAO's mission and objectives.

Languages:
Candidates must have a working knowledge (proficient - level C) of both English and Swahili. Proficiency in these languages is crucial for effective communication within the organization and with external partners, as well as for drafting documents and reports in line with corporate standards.
