Job Overview:
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and reporting plans that align with WFP's corporate standards. The incumbent will be responsible for generating quality evidence about beneficiaries’ lives, which will inform the design and implementation of policies, strategies, and programs. This position involves coordinating monitoring activities, supporting decentralized evaluations, and ensuring that WFP is recognized as a reliable partner for governments in developing monitoring and evaluation strategies. The role requires a proactive approach to monitoring project activities and supporting various initiatives as requested, under the supervision of the M&E Programme Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer include implementing WFP corporate Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) standards, maintaining strong relationships with beneficiary communities and partners, ensuring the integration of gender and inclusion concerns into M&E work, coordinating data collection efforts, preparing monthly monitoring plans, and conducting various monitoring activities. The officer will also be responsible for verifying, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing monitoring data, producing regular reports, and providing findings and recommendations to inform performance planning. Additionally, the officer will strengthen monitoring capacity for WFP Field Monitors and partners through learning opportunities and information-sharing, and represent WFP in inter-agency meetings to promote the importance of inter-agency M&E.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess proven knowledge and skills in Monitoring and Evaluation, with experience working with technical teams in areas such as nutrition, vulnerability analysis, and research. The ideal candidate should have contributed to the implementation of programs and have experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative surveys. Expertise in digital data collection tools, such as KoboToolBox and ODK, is highly desirable, along with strong report writing and analytical skills. The position requires fluency in both oral and written communication in English.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary school education, along with a post-secondary certificate in a related functional area. A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field would be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least six years of relevant experience in program design, implementation, or monitoring, particularly in development or community engagement contexts. Experience in food security, nutrition, or rural livelihoods is preferred, as it aligns with WFP's mission and operational focus.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as effective communication is essential for the role. While English is the primary language required, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in the context of the Caribbean region.

Additional Notes:
This position is a Short Term, Full Time role under a Service Contract Level 6 (SC 6) for a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and operational requirements. The duty station is Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, and the selected candidate may be required to travel regionally and internationally to support missions, emergency responses, and training. The position offers a competitive salary starting at TTD 19,526.98 per month, along with benefits such as up to 30 days of annual leave, pension contributions, health and life insurance, and various learning and development opportunities.
