Job Overview:
The position of Online Volunteer at WHO Jordan involves supporting the organization in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through multisectoral collaboration. The volunteer will dedicate approximately 20 hours per week to assist in conducting a systematic review using descriptive and content analysis. This role is crucial in helping WHO Jordan support the Ministry of Health in leading efforts to enhance SDG 3 governance and data generation, which has been recognized as a significant achievement in Jordan and is being adapted by other countries in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. The volunteer will work collaboratively with a designated contact person from WHO to draft a high-quality scientific paper, contributing to the organization's mission of promoting health and well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteer will be responsible for the following tasks: 1) Conducting a comprehensive literature review relevant to the focused area of study, producing a rigorous summary of the systematic review. 2) Performing data analysis and consolidating results through descriptive and content analysis, utilizing supportive tools provided by WHO staff. 3) Collaborating with the contact person to ensure the scientific paper meets the required standards of quality and rigor. 4) Engaging in discussions and feedback sessions to refine the research findings and improve the overall quality of the paper. 5) Completing the assignment within the designated timeframe and adhering to the guidelines set by WHO.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Online Volunteer position should possess strong analytical skills, particularly in literature review and data analysis. They should have a good understanding of scientific writing and be able to produce high-quality summaries and reports. Familiarity with health-related topics and the Sustainable Development Goals is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment, managing their time effectively to meet deadlines.

Educational Background:
A background in public health, social sciences, or a related field is preferred for this position. Candidates should ideally have completed or be pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline, which provides them with the necessary knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to the tasks outlined.

Experience:
While prior experience in research or scientific writing is advantageous, it is not mandatory. However, candidates should demonstrate a keen interest in health issues and a willingness to learn and engage with the research process. Experience in data analysis or familiarity with research methodologies will be considered a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all tasks and communications will be conducted in this language. Knowledge of Arabic is an asset, given the local context of the position, but it is not a requirement.

This is a volunteer position, and as such, it does not offer financial compensation. However, volunteers will receive a certificate of appreciation upon completion of their assignment. The role is designed to be flexible, allowing volunteers to manage their hours effectively while contributing to important health initiatives in Jordan.
