Job Overview: The Associate Syndications Officer position is situated within the Guarantees and Syndications Unit (GSU) of the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD) at ADB. The role involves providing essential research and analytical support for deal structuring, maintaining databases related to mobilization and concessional finance, and enhancing operational processes through automation. The officer will be responsible for ensuring that the Management Information System (MIS) produces accurate and timely outputs, and will develop user-friendly applications and dashboards to facilitate data management. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying IT solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks, as well as contributing to data visualizations for presentations prepared by GSU.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Syndications Officer include:
Providing research and analytical support to the GSU for deal structuring.
Recommending and implementing improvements to data management processes in syndications and concessional finance.
Designing, developing, and maintaining reliable databases covering mobilization and concessional finance pipelines, products, and historical transactions.
Ensuring the MIS produces accurate, timely, and consistent outputs, and that data inputs meet quality and governance standards.
Developing, enhancing, and maintaining user-friendly data input applications, dashboards, and reporting tools.
Validating, reconciling, and monitoring data integrity across data systems, addressing gaps, inconsistencies, and control issues.
Identifying, proposing, and implementing IT solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Contributing to data visualizations in presentations prepared by GSU.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Technology, or a related field, with a preference for those with advanced training. Prior exposure to development finance, financial products, or project-based data is essential. Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in database development and MIS support, particularly in financial institutions. High proficiency in Excel is required, along with proficiency in data visualization for PowerPoint presentations. Experience with Microsoft Power platforms (Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate) is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate experience in designing and maintaining databases and dashboards, with a strong focus on data quality and controls. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary, with written and verbal proficiency in English and the local language as applicable.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced training in these areas is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and knowledge relevant to the role.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, specifically in database development and management information systems (MIS) support within financial institutions. This experience should include working with financial products, project-based data, and a strong emphasis on data quality and controls.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, both written and verbal. Knowledge of the local language is also required as applicable to the position, enhancing communication within the organization and with stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This is a fixed-term appointment for an initial period of 3 years, with the possibility of extension for up to 2 additional years, conversion to a regular appointment, or termination at the end of the initial period based on ADB's needs and the employee's performance.
