Job Posting Organization:
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a prominent international humanitarian non-governmental organization (INGO) that was founded in 1933 at the behest of Albert Einstein. The organization is dedicated to responding to the world's most severe humanitarian crises, providing essential services to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and empowerment to individuals affected by conflict and disaster. With operations in over 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities, the IRC employs a workforce that is committed to delivering impactful solutions that help millions of people regain control over their lives and strengthen their communities. The IRC's mission is to be a force for humanity, and its employees work tirelessly to provide lasting change and hope to those in need. The IRC opened its Seattle office in 1976, focusing on a continuum of trauma-informed, client-centered services for refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable immigrants in Washington State, emphasizing diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workplace.

Job Overview:
The EAHR Coordinator is responsible for leading the coordination of psychological and medical evaluations in Seattle through the Evaluation Alliance for Human Rights (EAHR) program. This program aims to enhance access to forensic medical and mental health evaluations for asylum seekers and individuals seeking humanitarian protection who may otherwise lack access to such critical evidence. The EAHR Coordinator acts as the primary liaison among referring attorneys, volunteer evaluators, and applicants, managing referrals and scheduling, supporting the onboarding and engagement of evaluators, ensuring secure information sharing, and maintaining accurate data entry. Additionally, this role involves recruiting and supervising interns and volunteers who assist with evaluation coordination, resource navigation, and administrative tasks. The position is part of the Health & Wellness team and collaborates closely with the EAHR Technical Advisor and the Survivors of Torture team, as well as other Seattle-based teams within the IRC's Refugee and Immigrant Services (RAI) operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The EAHR Coordinator has a range of responsibilities that include: serving as the main point of contact for Seattle area volunteer evaluators and referring legal partners; reviewing referrals for appropriateness and completeness; coordinating the scheduling of medical and psychological evaluations, including interpretation services; facilitating the secure transfer of applicant information through approved platforms; organizing and coordinating the work of the EAHR coordination team; remaining on call during evaluations to troubleshoot issues; recruiting, onboarding, training, and supporting volunteer evaluators; maintaining engagement with volunteers to ensure they are up-to-date on program protocols; supervising interns and volunteers; conducting consistent data entry and record keeping in EAHR databases; ensuring compliance with confidentiality and safeguarding policies; identifying trends and opportunities for program improvement; contributing to best practices and training initiatives; coordinating with various IRC teams; and building relationships with community partners and legal organizations.

Required Qualifications:
Essential qualifications for the EAHR Coordinator position include an undergraduate degree in social work, psychology, public health, law, or a related field, with equivalent professional experience considered as a substitute. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience providing operational, administrative, or project coordination support in a nonprofit, social services, or healthcare setting. Strong organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, particularly the ability to work with individuals who have limited English proficiency. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships and uphold strict confidentiality and safeguarding standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and comfort with learning database and secure sharing systems are also necessary.

Educational Background:
Candidates for the EAHR Coordinator position should possess an undergraduate degree in social work, psychology, public health, law, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education, allowing for flexibility in the qualifications of potential applicants.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in operational, administrative, or project coordination roles, particularly within nonprofit organizations, social services, or healthcare settings. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to manage complex tasks and coordinate effectively with various stakeholders.

Languages:
While fluency or proficiency in English is mandatory, it is also beneficial for candidates to have proficiency in languages commonly spoken by EAHR clients, such as Spanish, Dari, Pashto, French, Arabic, Swahili, or Kinyarwanda. This linguistic capability can enhance communication with clients and improve service delivery.

Additional Notes:
The EAHR Coordinator position is based in a standard professional office environment, with options for hybrid in-office and remote work. Flexibility to support some evening or weekend evaluations may be required to accommodate evaluator schedules. Local travel within King and Pierce Counties may also be necessary. The compensation for this role ranges from $30.00 to $35.50 per hour, with the exact offer depending on various factors such as labor market conditions, job type, internal equity, and the candidate's experience and skills. The IRC offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes sick days, paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement savings plan, and an Employee Assistance Program. The IRC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all applicants based on merit, without discrimination based on race, sex, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
