Job Overview:
The position of Online Volunteer within the East and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) of UNV focuses on promoting volunteerism as a key driver of sustainable development. The role involves creating high-quality digital content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. The volunteers will play a crucial role in showcasing regional activities, amplifying volunteer stories, and enhancing visibility and engagement with global audiences. This position requires a commitment to producing two social media posts per week for each platform, utilizing information and materials provided by the ESARO team. Volunteers will collaborate closely with each other and the UNV ESARO Communications team to ensure consistent messaging across all channels. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteers will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Create and publish two social media posts per week for each of the five designated platforms, ensuring content is engaging and relevant.
  • Collaborate with fellow volunteers and the UNV ESARO Communications team to maintain coherence in messaging across all social media channels.
  • Utilize information, updates, and materials provided by the ESARO team to inform content creation.
  • Support the implementation of an integrated digital communication strategy that aligns with UNV’s branding and messaging guidelines.
  • Demonstrate strong creative thinking skills to develop innovative social media content.
  • Plan and support digital campaigns aimed at increasing engagement and visibility.
