Job Overview: The UN Volunteer will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Analyst for Youth Development, providing essential programme and administrative support. This role is crucial for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of initiatives that aim to enhance adolescent health, youth empowerment, and gender equality. The volunteer will engage in various activities that align with UNFPA's strategic priorities, particularly in promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The position requires collaboration with government ministries, civil society organizations, UN agencies, and faith-based partners to implement Life Skills and Health Education (LSHE) and adolescent safeguarding programs. The volunteer will also contribute to community engagement efforts and advocacy initiatives focused on menstrual health management and adolescent wellbeing. Additionally, the role involves updating educational materials and frameworks, operationalizing multisectoral approaches, and utilizing research evidence to inform programming and advocacy efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities: The UN Volunteer will be responsible for a range of duties, including:
Supporting the implementation of Life Skills and Health Education (LSHE) and adolescent safeguarding programs in collaboration with key partners.
Engaging in community advocacy and social behavior change initiatives to promote menstrual health management and adolescent wellbeing.
Reviewing, updating, and disseminating LSHE curriculum frameworks and teaching/learning materials for both in-school and out-of-school adolescents.
Contributing to the operationalization of the multisectoral approach under the National LSHE Steering Committee and relevant Technical Working Groups.
Collecting, analyzing, and documenting program data and lessons learned to inform adaptive programming and reporting.
Supporting the use of research evidence on LSHE/CSE and adolescent SRH to strengthen advocacy and design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design.
Preparing basic gender and youth-related correspondence in accordance with organizational rules, regulations, and policies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong commitment to the mission of UNFPA and demonstrate respect for diversity and integrity.
