Job Overview:
The Livelihoods Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in the Early Recovery programming in the Philippines, working closely with the Livelihoods Specialist, PM II - Early Recovery, and other programming staff. This position involves monitoring and reporting on project activities to support CRS's mission of serving the poor and vulnerable. The coordinator will ensure that project activities align with CRS program quality principles, donor requirements, and best practices. The role requires a thorough and service-oriented approach to enhance the impact of the project on the communities served. Responsibilities include coordinating the implementation of Livelihoods project activities, monitoring challenges, assisting partners in project evaluations, and collecting data for reporting and case studies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Livelihoods Project Coordinator will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Support the coordination and implementation of all assigned Livelihoods project activities as per the detailed implementation plan.
  • Monitor and report on Livelihoods-related challenges and gaps to inform project adjustments.
  • Assist partners in reflecting on project experiences and support accountability through project evaluation activities.
  • Collaborate with local partners to prepare reports according to the established reporting schedule.
  • Collect information on staff capacity needs and monitor capacity building activities.
  • Complete project documentation for assigned activities and assist in identifying information for case studies and reports on promising practices.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess 2-3 years of solid experience in the field of Livelihoods, preferably with a focus on agriculture, fisheries, and small and medium enterprises or agribusiness within an NGO context. A Bachelor's Degree in agriculture, community development, social sciences, statistics, or a related field is required. Experience in participatory action planning and community engagement is essential, along with proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position, with a focus on relevant fields such as agriculture, community development, social sciences, or statistics. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of Livelihoods programming and to effectively engage with community members and partners.

Experience:
The position requires 2-3 years of relevant experience in Livelihoods programming, particularly in areas related to agriculture, fisheries, and agribusiness. Experience working with NGOs and engaging in participatory action planning and community engagement is highly valued. Familiarity with monitoring projects and collecting data is preferred, as is experience in Early Recovery Livelihoods.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Filipino is mandatory for this position. These language skills are essential for effective communication with local partners, community members, and reporting requirements. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not specified as mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This position is contingent upon donor funding and may involve travel to field bases in the Bicol Region or Cebu Province, with travel requirements up to 30% of the time. The role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
