Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position at UNFPA involves supporting the implementation and monitoring of humanitarian activities in South Sudan. The role is crucial in contributing to needs assessments, situation analyses, and rapid field reporting to inform evidence-based response planning. The volunteer will assist in coordinating humanitarian program implementation with partners and humanitarian actors, track progress of emergency interventions, and prepare donor reports and situation updates. This position is integral to enhancing rights, resilience, and wellbeing across South Sudan, particularly in humanitarian and recovery settings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteer will carry out a variety of duties including: supporting the implementation and monitoring of humanitarian activities in line with UNFPA emergency response plans; contributing to needs assessments and situation analyses; assisting in coordinating program implementation with partners; tracking progress of emergency interventions; preparing donor reports and situation updates; participating in inter-agency coordination forums; monitoring field activities for compliance with UNFPA standards; supporting supply tracking for emergency distributions; documenting lessons learned and best practices; reviewing work plan progress reports; and integrating cross-cutting priorities such as gender equality and accountability into emergency interventions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in project management and coordination is essential, along with a commitment to humanitarian principles and UNFPA's mission. The ability to communicate effectively and engage with diverse stakeholders is also required.

Educational Background:
A background in social sciences, public health, international relations, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of humanitarian principles and practices, as well as familiarity with reproductive health issues and gender-based violence.

Experience:
The position requires prior experience in humanitarian settings, particularly in monitoring and evaluation, project management, or coordination roles. Experience working with UN agencies or NGOs in emergency contexts is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Arabic or other local languages is considered an asset and would enhance communication with local stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This is an online volunteering assignment, which allows for flexibility in working hours. The position is part-time and may require commitment to specific deadlines for reporting and coordination activities. The volunteer will work remotely but will be expected to engage actively with the UNFPA team and partners through virtual platforms.
