Job Overview: The Programme Analyst for Gender-Responsive Climate Action will play a crucial role in managing UN Women’s programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly focusing on integrating gender considerations into climate action initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Analyst include contributing to the development of program strategies in Gender-Responsive Climate Action, providing technical support for program implementation, managing program finances, and monitoring progress. The analyst will lead the coordination of proposals, train partners on Results Based Management, and develop technical knowledge products. They will also be responsible for drafting reports on program results, managing budgets, and supervising program associates. Additionally, the analyst will engage in resource mobilization strategies, support inter-agency coordination, and contribute to advocacy and knowledge-building efforts related to gender-responsive climate action.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in climate and environmental sciences, social sciences, gender/women's studies, sustainable development, public administration/management, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. A project/programme management certification is considered an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong program formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation skills, as well as knowledge of Results Based Management and gender, climate, and environmental sciences.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as climate and environmental sciences, social sciences, gender studies, sustainable development, or public administration. A first-level university degree may be accepted with additional qualifying experience. A project/programme management certification would enhance a candidate's profile.
Experience: At least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in development program/project implementation, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building is required. Experience in climate change, environmental governance, or energy transition initiatives, particularly with a focus on gender equality, is desirable. Candidates should have experience in liaising with government agencies and donors, leading and coaching staff in international settings, and proficiency in using office software and web-based management systems.
Languages: Fluency in English and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
