Job Overview:
The Field Coordinator plays a crucial role in coordinating and ensuring the effective implementation of programs and operational activities at the field level. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with logistics, human resources, administration, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security procedures. The Field Coordinator represents Action Against Hunger with relevant stakeholders and supports the implementation of the country strategy while ensuring program quality, operational coordination, and effective team management. The role requires a proactive approach to monitor program progress, identify risks or delays, and support proposal development and reporting activities. The Field Coordinator is expected to oversee field-level logistics, HR, and finance coordination, ensuring compliance with organizational procedures and addressing any operational gaps that may arise. Additionally, the position involves supervising Program Managers and supporting function leads, fostering staff development, and ensuring effective communication between field offices and coordination teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Coordinator's duties and responsibilities include coordinating the implementation of Action Against Hunger's country strategy at the field level, ensuring effective program implementation aligned with work plans and technical guidance, and monitoring program progress while identifying risks or delays. The role also involves overseeing field-level logistics, human resources, and finance coordination, monitoring compliance with organizational procedures, and reviewing operational reports to address any gaps. The Field Coordinator is responsible for supervising Program Managers and field-level support teams, including logistics, HR, and finance leads, while supporting staff development and technical coordination. Furthermore, the position requires monitoring the security context, supporting risk mitigation, coordinating with security leadership on operational decisions, and ensuring staff awareness of security procedures. The Field Coordinator represents Action Against Hunger with UN agencies, NGOs, and local authorities, participates in coordination forums and humanitarian networks, and supports partnership development at the field level.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the Field Coordinator position, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in development, humanitarian studies, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an INGO management role is required, along with experience managing humanitarian or nutrition programs. Candidates should have experience working in complex or hardship environments and demonstrate strong planning and budgeting skills. Fluency in English is mandatory, while a Master’s degree is preferred. Previous experience with Action Against Hunger and familiarity with working in South Sudan or similar contexts is advantageous. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Field Coordinator position includes a Bachelor’s degree in development, humanitarian studies, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred, indicating a higher level of education and expertise in relevant areas.

Experience:
Candidates for the Field Coordinator position should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role within an international non-governmental organization (INGO). This experience should include managing humanitarian or nutrition programs and working in complex or hardship environments, demonstrating the ability to navigate challenging operational contexts effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is a mandatory requirement for the Field Coordinator position. While not required, knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset, which may enhance communication and collaboration in the field.

This position is open to both national and international candidates, and candidates must be willing and able to work in field locations within South Sudan. Regular field presence and travel within South Sudan are required, and the work may involve challenging field environments and security contexts.
