Job Overview:
The Analyst position at EBRD is integral to the project cycle, encompassing project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. The Analyst will work closely with the operation leader and senior bankers, taking on responsibilities that include conducting comprehensive due diligence, which involves financial, market, integrity assessments, and ensuring compliance with EBRD policies. The role requires the Analyst to engage in effective post-signing implementation and monitoring, contributing to the overall success of the projects. The Analyst will be expected to progressively take on more complex tasks as they gain experience, thereby expanding their scope of responsibilities and expertise within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks under the guidance of the operation leader or a more senior banker. Key responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating as a project team member on transactions, contributing to all aspects of project structuring and execution. This includes conducting comprehensive research and analysis of background materials, market information, and financial performance data.
  • Analyzing and evaluating potential risks related to proposed projects, which involves scrutinizing financial statements and preparing and updating financial models and projections.
  • Assisting in the design and processing of technical cooperation assistance, including the preparation of terms of reference and internal approval documentation to support investment projects or policy dialogue initiatives.
  • Facilitating communication with other internal units of the Bank, clients, and stakeholders at the operational level, which may involve drafting correspondence, presentations, and following up on internal communications.
  • Ensuring that all assigned tasks are completed within specified time frames and to a high standard, in alignment with the Bank's policies, procedures, and objectives. The Analyst's responsibilities are structured to allow for progressive development and increased complexity in tasks as they gain experience.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant areas. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Critical quantitative and numerical skills are essential, enabling the interpretation of financial information and the design and use of financial models. Candidates should have credit analysis skills, with a solid understanding of local and international accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet packages, particularly those related to financial analysis and modeling, is required. A good understanding of relevant systems and processes is also necessary. The ability to work effectively as part of a team, meet deadlines, and perform under time pressure is crucial, along with strong written and oral communication skills in both English and Turkish.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred, as it provides a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in financial analysis and project management. Candidates with equivalent professional experience in relevant sectors may also be considered, particularly if they demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills.

Experience:
The position requires relevant financial industry experience, ideally gained from working in investment or commercial banks, private equity firms, asset management firms, or auditing/financial consulting firms that adhere to international standards. Candidates should have exposure to industry or country-specific experience that enhances their understanding of the financial landscape in which EBRD operates.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Turkish is mandatory for this position, as effective communication with stakeholders and team members is essential. Additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the regions in which EBRD operates, enhancing the Analyst's ability to engage with diverse clients and partners.
