Job Overview:
The Project Associate position is integral to the successful implementation of the joint project 'Advancing Quality Education and Lifelong Learning Opportunities for All', which is a collaborative effort between UNDP and UNICEF, funded by the European Union. The project aims to enhance the quality and relevance of education in Moldova, ensuring that educational opportunities are equitable and accessible to all children. The Project Associate will play a crucial role in the administration and operational support of the project, ensuring that activities are executed efficiently and effectively. This includes managing project documentation, supporting financial processes, and facilitating communication among stakeholders. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to achieving project objectives, particularly in enhancing learning environments and supporting the professional development of educators.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Associate will undertake a variety of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: assisting in the efficient delivery of the project by managing administrative, logistical, travel, procurement, financial, and asset management tasks in compliance with UNDP policies; providing support for the procurement of goods and services; arranging project-related meetings; participating in the preparation of work plans and procurement plans; maintaining an organized filing system; monitoring project activities and collecting data; ensuring compliance with financial regulations; assisting in drafting project progress reports; monitoring project expenditures; organizing procurement processes; preparing travel documents; providing logistical support for project events; and maintaining communication with project experts and consultants. The Project Associate will also be responsible for ensuring that all financial activities are completed on schedule and within budget, and will assist in the preparation of necessary documentation for audits and evaluations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Project Associate position should possess a secondary education as a minimum requirement, with a university degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Management, Accounting, or a related field being advantageous. The role requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience for those with secondary education, or 4 years for those with a bachelor's degree. Candidates should demonstrate experience in a multicultural work environment and proficiency in office software, particularly in spreadsheet and database management. Experience with international organizations, particularly in project implementation and financial administration, is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with various stakeholders are essential for success in this role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Project Associate position includes at least a secondary education. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Management, or Accounting is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates with higher education qualifications may be given preference during the selection process, as they may bring additional skills and knowledge that are beneficial for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience for candidates with secondary education, or 4 years for those with a bachelor's degree.
