Job Overview:
The Global Security and Safety Associate plays a crucial role in providing specialized administrative and technical support for security and safety operations across UN Women’s global locations. Reporting directly to the UN Women Global advisor" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Advisor, the Associate is responsible for coordinating security information systems, compliance monitoring, training logistics, and administrative operations. This position requires a high degree of operational independence and involves serving as the primary coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">administrative coordinator between various UN Women offices to ensure the safety and security of personnel and operations. The Associate will also be involved in implementing security policies, delivering technical training, and managing a multimillion USD budget related to security and safety compliance. The role may require periodic deployment to high-risk duty stations at short notice, emphasizing the need for flexibility and readiness to respond to urgent security needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Global Security and Safety Associate include maintaining and updating a global directory of UN Women Security and Safety Focal Points, coordinating communications with these focal points, and developing contacts within UN Women Divisions. The Associate is tasked with preparing and processing UN Women Security plans, administering the HQ Warden System, and organizing training sessions for personnel. Additionally, the role involves budget management support, including monitoring project contributions to security measures, preparing budget utilization forecasts, and ensuring compliance with budget limits. The Associate will also gather information on security factors affecting UN Women’s programming, provide administrative support for threat and risk assessments, and maintain the organization’s Security and Safety Plan. Furthermore, the Associate will ensure timely information sharing and coordination regarding security incidents and provide rapid response support as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in security, administration, risk management, or a related field. Experience in monitoring and administering a multimillion USD budget is required, along with at least 2 years of experience in training coordination and delivery. Proficiency in using office software packages, including MS Word and Excel, is essential. International experience and familiarity with inter-agency working groups are desirable, as is experience in gender-focused operations or programming. Knowledge of the UN Security Management System (UNSMS) and experience with modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, are also advantageous.

Educational Background:
A completion of secondary education is required for this position. A bachelor’s degree or diploma from a police or military institution, college, or academy is considered an asset. Additionally, a certificate in Business Administration, Public Administration, Procurement, or a related field is desirable, indicating a preference for candidates with formal education in relevant areas.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in security, administration, or risk management. Candidates should have experience in managing multimillion USD budgets and coordinating training sessions. Familiarity with office software and web-based management systems is necessary, and international experience is preferred. Experience working with the UN Security Management System and in gender-focused operations is also beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is desirable, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate in a diverse international environment.
