Job Description
Job Posting Organization:
UN Women was established in July 2010 by the United Nations General Assembly as the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. The organization was created as part of the UN reform agenda, merging resources and mandates from four previously distinct parts of the UN system that focused on gender equality and women's empowerment. UN Women operates globally, with a mission to advance women's rights, gender equality, and the empowerment of all women and girls. The organization partners with governments, women's movements, and the private sector to close the gender gap and build an equal world for all women and girls. UN Women is committed to keeping the rights of women and girls at the center of global progress, emphasizing that gender equality is not just an action but an integral part of its identity. The UN Women Knowledge and Partnerships Centre in the Republic of Korea was established in 2022 with support from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, aiming to serve as a knowledge hub for research, education, training, and partnership development in the Asia-Pacific region, contributing to the operationalization of normative frameworks on gender equality and the empowerment of women.

Job Overview:
The internship at the UN Women Knowledge and Partnerships Centre offers a unique opportunity for final year undergraduate and graduate students to gain direct exposure to UN Women’s work and acquire technical knowledge and experience in international development and multilateral cooperation. The internship is designed to provide a multi-faceted experience, allowing interns to refine their communications and writing skills while working on projects related to women's empowerment and gender equality. Interns will have the chance to collaborate with Korean government and non-government institutions, as well as with overseas UN Women offices and their national partners in the Asia-Pacific region.
