Job Overview: The position of Auxiliar de seguimiento involves supporting the Research, Assessment, and Monitoring (RAM) unit within the WFP in El Salvador. The primary function of this role is to conduct research and monitoring activities related to ongoing projects and programs, ensuring that all administrative tasks associated with these activities are executed efficiently. The Auxiliar will work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team to design, coordinate, and implement monitoring activities that align with the organization's standards and priorities. This role is crucial for generating evidence that informs decision-making processes and contributes to the overall effectiveness of WFP's interventions in the region. The Auxiliar will also play a key role in data collection, processing, and analysis, producing technical reports that support operational and strategic decisions.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Auxiliar de seguimiento will have a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: participating in the annual work plan development for the M&E area and the RAM unit; designing and executing monitoring activities linked to country office programs; leading data collection, processing, and analysis efforts; preparing technical reports on food assistance needs, resource utilization, and programmatic progress; ensuring rigorous data management and compliance with institutional standards; coordinating analysis and dissemination of evidence generated by the M&E area; supervising temporary support staff; applying emergency preparedness practices; collaborating with internal counterparts for effective program implementation; supporting coordination with partners, NGOs, and public institutions; and providing assistance to other areas within the RAM unit as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of a fourth-year university education in fields such as International Relations, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, or Social Sciences. Additionally, candidates should have at least four years of progressively responsible professional experience in monitoring and evaluation of programs or projects, including data collection tool design, field programming, data analysis, and reporting. Experience in effective communication with specialized technical teams and active participation in monitoring and evaluation plan formulation is also required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel, is essential, and familiarity with corporate systems in SAP and data analysis/visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, SPSS, R, or Stata is desirable.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a fourth-year university degree in relevant fields such as International Relations, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, or Social Sciences. Experience: The position requires a minimum of four years of professional experience with increasing responsibilities in monitoring and evaluation activities. Additional Notes: This position is a Special Services Agreement (SSA) level 4 contract with a duration of 11 months. The role is full-time and based in San Salvador, El Salvador.
