Job Overview:
The position of Specialized Support and analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Technical Analysis Officer at WFP involves providing specialized support and technical analysis for food assistance policies and programs, particularly in emergency programming. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure that interventions are aligned with broader programmatic policies and guidelines. The officer will be responsible for developing and implementing various activities that support emergency interventions, ensuring that they meet established objectives and comply with WFP's policies and procedures. This position is critical in preparing reports and data analyses related to food assistance needs, resource utilization, program status, and performance, identifying trends and issues that may arise. The officer will also coordinate with internal counterparts and external partners, including local NGOs and government institutions, to ensure effective collaboration and monitoring of ongoing activities. The role is essential in strengthening the capacities of WFP staff and partners in the specific technical area, acting as a point of contact for operational queries and issues, and applying standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure rapid response capabilities in crisis situations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Specialized Support and Technical Analysis Officer include:
  • Providing technical support and assisting in the development and implementation of various activities to support emergency interventions, ensuring alignment with broader programmatic policies and guidelines.
  • Offering specialized support in project management for specific programs, ensuring that activities are executed within established objectives and in accordance with WFP policies and procedures.
  • Preparing a variety of reports and data analyses related to food assistance needs, resource use, program status, and performance, identifying trends or issues and ensuring compliance with corporate standards and quality controls.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely data recording within the specific technical area of work, maintaining consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
  • Coordinating with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation, and monitoring of ongoing activities.
  • Communicating with local partners, agencies, NGOs, and government institutions to conduct accurate food security analyses and ensure efficient delivery of food assistance.
  • Supporting capacity strengthening of WFP staff, cooperating partners, and other stakeholders within the specific technical area.
  • Acting as a point of contact for resolving various operational queries and issues within the technical area of responsibility.
  • Supervising and/or reviewing the work of support staff, providing practical guidance and advice to contribute to achieving objectives within agreed standards and timelines. 1
  • Applying standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure that WFP can respond quickly and deploy necessary resources in affected areas during new crises or sudden changes in existing crises. 1
  • Performing any other tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the position include:
  • A university degree in International Relations, Law, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Policy, Management, or another relevant discipline related to international development or humanitarian assistance.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in humanitarian and development programming and/or in areas related to project management.
  • Proven experience in coordinating roles with various internal stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written (C level).

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree in a relevant field such as International Relations, Law, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Policy, or Management. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of international development and humanitarian assistance effectively.

Experience:
Candidates should have 5-7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in humanitarian programming and development, with a focus on project management. This experience should include roles that demonstrate coordination with various stakeholders and the ability to manage complex projects effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken, at a C level. Additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the regions where WFP operates.
