Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is designed to support the Macroeconomic Policy and Financing for Development Division (MPFD) in enhancing the dissemination of its publications and events. Interns will be involved in developing a strategic communication plan and implementing digital outreach initiatives to increase the impact and reach of the Division’s work. The internship is unpaid and has a minimum duration of three months, extendable up to six months. Interns are expected to work five days a week, totaling 35 hours. The role is crucial for assisting in the communication and outreach efforts of the Division, which includes drafting content for public information materials, developing social media plans, and producing multimedia materials.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will have a variety of responsibilities that may be tailored to their skills and the needs of the Division. These include: assisting in drafting and editing content for public information materials such as press releases, newsletter articles, blog posts, and social media updates; supporting the development of social media plans and campaigns; exploring additional digital outreach opportunities; producing multimedia materials like infographics, motion graphics, short videos, and event flyers; preparing professional PowerPoint presentations; assisting with video production tasks; supporting the organization and execution of publication launches and other events; conducting background research to inform public information materials; and initiating and carrying out assigned tasks or special projects as required.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the internship, candidates must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent). Candidates should have studied areas such as communications, public information, and/or public policy. While computer literacy in standard software applications and in Adobe Creative Studio and Canva is desirable, it is not mandatory. A keen interest in the work of the United Nations and a commitment to its ideals is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and beliefs.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a background in communications, public information, public policy, or related fields. They should either be currently enrolled in a graduate program or have completed their studies at the undergraduate level. This educational background is crucial for understanding the context and responsibilities of the internship.

Experience:
No prior working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. However, candidates should possess skills and knowledge that would benefit the United Nations during their internship. This includes the ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as Chinese or Russian, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.

Additional Notes:
The internship is unpaid, and interns are responsible for their own travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of Thailand may need to obtain the appropriate visa and work authorization. The internship is for a minimum of three months and a maximum of six months.
