Job Overview: The Assistant(e) People & Culture (P&C) will work under the close supervision of the People & Culture Specialist and will be responsible for various administrative tasks that support personnel management activities. This role is essential in ensuring that the UNICEF office in Mauritania operates efficiently and effectively, particularly in the context of humanitarian challenges. The assistant will participate in the recruitment process for UN Volunteers and staff, ensuring compliance with UNICEF's rules and procedures. They will also facilitate the onboarding process for new staff, maintain up-to-date HR data, manage leave plans, and contribute to communication efforts within the HR department. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Assistant(e) People & Culture (P&C) include: participating in the recruitment of UN Volunteers and staff, preparing and publishing job vacancies, organizing tests and interviews, ensuring compliance with recruitment processes; facilitating the onboarding of new staff by providing necessary documents and information; maintaining daily updates of HR data including recruitment, training, and staff attendance; managing leave plans and tracking staff presence; assisting in the management of consultants; supporting HR communication activities by drafting content and simplifying processes; participating in innovative HR projects; liaising with HR colleagues in other offices to share best practices; maintaining and updating HR databases; contributing to the office's diversity and inclusion strategy; preparing necessary correspondence and communications; ensuring electronic records are updated and confidential; planning meetings and documenting minutes; contributing to the establishment of key performance indicators (KPIs) for HR initiatives; analyzing HR data for continuous improvement; and performing any other related tasks as assigned.
