Job Overview:
The National UNV Communication Expert (Digital Content) is a pivotal role within the Advocacy and Communication Section of UNICEF Philippines. This position is responsible for providing hands-on expertise in integrated digital content creation and dissemination, which includes producing videos, social media materials, human-interest stories, and donor visibility assets. The expert will also serve as the focal point for AI-powered software tools and hardware equipment, ensuring that all production stages adhere to the latest industry standards and UNICEF guidance. The role is crucial for supporting UNICEF Philippines' digital communication outputs, producing high-quality content assets that align with advocacy priorities, youth engagement, and brand building, while also ensuring organized and compliant digital repositories that follow best-in-class industry practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Digital content development & storytelling, event organizing: The expert will provide guidance across the full production cycle of multimedia and digital content, ensuring alignment with UNICEF branding and ethical standards. This includes advising on creative assets for advocacy campaigns, maintaining an understanding of content sensitivities, drafting captions and narratives for social media, and providing support during emergencies.
  • Digital asset & knowledge management: The expert will oversee the digital asset management platform WeShare and SharePoint, ensuring the curation and organization of multimedia assets. This includes quality-checking assets, ensuring adherence to UNICEF standards, and coordinating emergency uploads.
  • Internal coordination and knowledge management: The expert will provide expertise to the digital team on managing content inputs and support skills development in content production.
  • Promoting volunteerism: The expert will build relationships with local organizations and encourage volunteerism, assisting in documenting experiences and integrating volunteerism into work plans.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong understanding of digital content creation and management, with expertise in multimedia production. They should have experience in storytelling and event organizing, as well as knowledge of UNICEF's branding and ethical standards. The ability to provide guidance on digital asset management and support skills development in content production is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in communications, media studies, marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant areas will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of digital communication strategies and tools, as well as experience in multimedia content production.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in digital content creation, multimedia production, or a related field. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of advocacy and communication, is highly desirable. Familiarity with AI-powered tools and platforms for content creation is a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Filipino or other local languages is considered an asset, as it can enhance communication and engagement with local communities.

This is a national UN Volunteer assignment, meaning the selected candidate will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The position is part of the malicious insurance plan for national UN Volunteers.
