Job Overview:
The Financial Management Officer is tasked with a variety of responsibilities that are crucial for the financial health and compliance of the organization. This role involves reviewing and processing Sub-recipient Financial Reports (SFRs) from Implementing Agencies (IAs), ensuring that all financial transactions comply with the applicable rules and regulations set forth by funders and FHI 36
  • The officer will also provide capacity-building training to finance staff of IAs, monitor financial systems, and assist in the preparation of payroll and cash flows. The position requires a proactive approach to financial management, ensuring timely payments and compliance with financial policies, while also supporting the overall mission of FHI 360.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Financial Management Officer will be responsible for reviewing all SFRs received from IAs and processing them for approval and disbursement. This includes assisting program staff with the development of budgets for IAs, conducting training sessions for finance staff, and performing monitoring field visits. The officer will prepare travel advances, review travel claims for compliance, and ensure timely vendor payments. Additionally, the officer will assist in preparing monthly Labor and Shared Cost Allocation reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and GST reports. The role also involves conducting pre-audits on vouchers and invoices, preparing payroll drafts, maintaining financial documentation, and supporting the admin team with inventory updates. The officer will perform other relevant duties as assigned by the coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Finance Coordinator and Senior Management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a proven ability to maintain accurate financial records and demonstrate a strong background in financial management. The ideal candidate should have experience in administering financial matters and managing sub-contracts or agreements. Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English are essential, along with proficiency in computer software such as MS Word, Excel, and Access. The ability to train and monitor implementing agencies supported by FHI 360 is also a key requirement.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a Diploma in commerce or a business-related field is required for this position. Candidates should have a solid understanding of financial principles and practices, which will be critical in executing the responsibilities of the role effectively.

Experience:
The position requires at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, particularly within the context of NGOs or donor agencies. Prior experience working with financial systems and processes in a similar environment is highly regarded and will be beneficial for the successful execution of the duties associated with this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as the role requires effective communication with various stakeholders. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not explicitly required for this position.
