Job Overview:
The role of the online volunteer for Video Editing and Storytelling at Children’s Hope India is to creatively support the organization by producing a compelling fundraising video that encapsulates the impact of CHI's work. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can sift through existing video footage, photos, and narratives to identify strong storytelling opportunities. The volunteer will conceptualize, edit, and produce a high-quality video that aligns with CHI’s fundraising and engagement objectives. The final output should be an emotionally resonant film that effectively communicates the organization’s mission and purpose, aimed at engaging donors and enhancing CHI’s digital outreach.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review and curate existing video, photo, and narrative resources to identify compelling storytelling opportunities.
  • Conceptualize and produce a high-quality short film of approximately 1-1.5 minutes that aligns with CHI’s fundraising goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the CHI communications and fundraising teams to ensure alignment in messaging, tone, and visual language.
  • Deliver the final video within agreed timelines while incorporating feedback efficiently.
  • Ensure that the video content is emotionally resonant and donor-focused, clearly communicating the impact of CHI’s initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in video editing and storytelling, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of narrative structure and the ability to create engaging content.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

Educational Background:
A background in film production, media studies, communications, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Relevant experience and a strong portfolio can substitute for formal education.

Experience:
Previous experience in video editing, storytelling, or related volunteer work is highly desirable. Familiarity with fundraising initiatives and non-profit storytelling can be an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Additional languages may be beneficial but are not required.
