The consultant will work closely with the UN Resident Coordinator's Office (RCO) in Burundi, collaborating with various UN agencies and stakeholders to optimize governance structures and improve accountability to donors and key stakeholders. The overarching goal is to reposition the MPTF as a catalytic lever that can attract new funding and demonstrate measurable impacts in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for several key duties, including:
Conducting a rapid diagnostic of the MPTF's performance, focusing on results, finances, governance, and partnerships.
Identifying strategic risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for repositioning the fund in the short and medium term.
Formulating a strategic positioning note for the MPTF.
Proposing concrete measures to accelerate implementation and disbursements while ensuring quality.
Supporting the strategic prioritization of allocations and interventions that yield high impact.
Enhancing the use of data and results to inform governance decisions.
Assisting in optimizing the functioning of governance structures of the MPTF.
Strengthening coherence among participating agencies and government partners.
Improving accountability to donors and key stakeholders. 1
Contributing to the production of key messages, strategic briefs, and advocacy materials. 1
Highlighting the results and added value of the MPTF in dialogues with donors. 1

Required Qualifications: The position requires a first-level degree in economics or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience is essential, with at least 5 years of experience specifically within the United Nations system. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills, strategic thinking capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Experience in resource mobilization and governance structures within the UN context is highly desirable.
