Job Overview: The Social Worker position at UNRWA involves conducting comprehensive social intervention assessments for individuals and families identified as needing assistance. The incumbent will develop individualized care plans using a strengths-based approach and provide social support, including psycho-social counseling, to clients at either the household or facility level. The role also requires identifying the need for referrals to other UNRWA services or external agencies, facilitating these referrals, and ensuring follow-up to guarantee appropriate care. Documentation of all case work must be done promptly and accurately, adhering to social work principles and maintaining records in relevant databases. Additionally, the Social Worker will facilitate community-based initiatives targeting various demographics, including women, children, youth, the elderly, and persons with disabilities, to complement ongoing case work objectives. Building and maintaining good working relationships with partners and stakeholders is essential to enhance refugees' access to quality services. The position also involves performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor, emphasizing the need for flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Facilitate and support community-based initiatives targeting vulnerable groups, ensuring alignment with ongoing case work objectives.
Maintain effective working relationships with partners and stakeholders to improve access to quality services for refugees.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in social work, sociology, psychology, guidance and counseling, or a related discipline. Additionally, applicants should have at least three years of experience providing social work, psycho-social support, or counseling within developmental or humanitarian programs, preferably in governmental, non-governmental, or NGO settings. It is essential for candidates to demonstrate their current involvement in outside activities, which may include employment, freelance consulting, public speaking, teaching, or voluntary work. Additional Notes: The position is offered as a Limited Duration Contract (LDC) for a duration of six months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The monthly basic salary for this position is JOD 781.40, and additional benefits include compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave prorated to the contract duration, family allowance (if applicable), sick leave, maternity leave, and paternity leave. Candidates must reside in the West Bank or Jerusalem and have authorization to work in the duty station at the time of application. The agency will not facilitate work permits, and preference will be given to registered Palestine refugees and candidates from underrepresented genders to promote gender parity.
