Job Overview: The Grants Manager position is a critical role within the coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL. Reporting to the Grant & Partnerships Coordinator, the Grants Manager is responsible for ensuring accountability to donors and effective management of grants throughout the project cycle. This role requires close collaboration with program and support teams at both the coordination and base levels. The Grants Manager will contribute strategically to the mission's development, oversee the submission of high-quality proposals and reports, and monitor the mission's communication obligations. The position demands meticulous attention to detail and adherence to various donor guidelines and deadlines. The Grants Manager will also be tasked with aligning various teams and stakeholders to ensure consistency in proposal development and managing diverse inputs to create cohesive and accurate project documents. Initial priorities for the first two to three months include launching new projects, ensuring compliance training for new donors, mainstreaming grant processes throughout the mission, and establishing a communication and visibility framework for the mission.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Grants Manager will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Ensuring compliance with donor procedures and maintaining rigorous follow-up on contractual obligations from contracting to closure.
Building the capacity of staff in grant management and compliance.
Overseeing the preparation and submission of high-quality proposals and reports to donors.
Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of projects to ensure they meet donor requirements and organizational standards.
Collaborating with program teams to align project objectives with donor expectations.
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with donors and partners to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
Conducting training sessions for staff on grant management and compliance issues.
Preparing and maintaining accurate records of grant activities and expenditures.
Contributing to the strategic planning and development of the mission's programs and projects. 1
Participating in coordination meetings and providing updates on grant management activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Grants Manager position should possess the following qualifications:
A minimum of 0-2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with specific experience in a similar position being advantageous.
Excellent writing skills and experience in drafting proposals and reports.
Strong understanding of donor rules and regulations, particularly those of DG ECHO, CDCS, OCHA, GFFO, and UNICEF.
Strong communication skills and the ability to understand visibility requirements related to donors.
Ability to work in a multicultural context and demonstrate diplomacy in interactions with stakeholders.
Educational Background: The educational background required for the Grants Manager position includes a high diploma in relevant fields such as political science, humanitarian action, development, international relations, or international law. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian aid and the regulatory environment in which SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL operates.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have 0-2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a preference for those who have held similar roles in grants management. This level of experience is crucial for understanding the intricacies of donor compliance and effective grant management.
Languages: Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in Arabic is considered a strong asset, as it enhances communication with local partners and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The Grants Manager position is a short-term contract role. The salary is competitive, starting from EUR 2310 gross per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 2100 plus a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 750 is provided. SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. The organization implements a work-break system, allowing for 7 working days off every three months, with a USD 850 break allowance. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions in Jerusalem are generally safe, with a fully furnished coordination office and guesthouse available for staff.
