Job Overview: The IT Project Manager will be part of the Programmatic Solutions Unit within the Business Solutions Section of the IAEA's Division of Information Technology. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the agency's business technology priorities are met effectively and efficiently. The consultant will be responsible for managing multiple IT projects that are critical to the agency's operations. This includes translating business requirements into technological solutions, leading project teams, and advising senior management on various aspects of project implementation. The IT Project Manager will also be involved in supporting the implementation of new information systems and enhancements to existing systems, ensuring that all projects align with the IAEA's technical architecture and best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities: The IT Project Manager's duties include supporting the implementation of new information systems or enhancements to existing systems by analyzing information processes and technical solutions. The role involves developing project plans that adhere to relevant policies and standards, leading Agile software implementation teams, and managing the end-to-end Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). The IT Project Manager will also support organizational change initiatives by analyzing existing information solutions, identifying opportunities for improvements, and proposing new or improved processes. Additionally, the consultant will contribute to organizational change management efforts, create communication and user training plans, serve as product manager for IAEA web products, collaborate with other MTIT staff, and support the management of MTIT portfolios through data analysis and visualization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. An accredited certification in Project Management such as PMP or PRINCE2 is considered an asset, as well as Agile and Business Analysis Certifications like CBAP and SCRUM Master. The position requires a minimum of five years of experience as an IT project manager in an information systems context, particularly in a client-facing role. Experience with structured project management methodologies such as PMP or PRINCE2 is essential, along with a proven track record in leading software delivery teams using lean/agile approaches such as SCRUM.
Educational Background: A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required for this position. Additional certifications in project management and agile methodologies are highly desirable and will enhance a candidate's profile.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least five years of experience as an IT project manager, specifically in an information systems context. This experience should include managing projects that utilize structured methodologies like PMP or PRINCE2, leading software delivery teams, and working with the Software Development Lifecycle. Candidates should also have experience in business process reengineering and managing projects that implement modern cloud-based data platforms.
Languages: Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory, with a strong emphasis on drafting skills. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish is considered an asset and will be beneficial in a multicultural work environment.
Additional Notes: The consultancy offers a daily fee of up to a maximum of €375, depending on qualifications and experience. If travel is required for the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs will be provided. Health coverage and pension fund responsibilities lie with the incumbent. The position is full-time and may involve working with mixed onsite and offsite teams.
