Job Overview:
The Audit Specialist position is situated within the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) at the Asian Development Bank. The role involves conducting independent and objective audits and advisory services across various domains, including treasury, risk management, and both sovereign and non-sovereign operations. The Audit Specialist will be responsible for formulating audit strategies and recommendations aimed at enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, and internal controls. This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring the implementation of management actions and working closely with clients to achieve broad organizational objectives. The Audit Specialist will also focus on developing data analytics and technological solutions to improve audit processes and provide data-driven insights, thereby playing a crucial role in the overall audit function of ADB.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Audit Specialist will be tasked with delivering medium to large complex audit and advisory engagements, emphasizing the development of data analytics and technological solutions. Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting independent audits and advisory services in treasury, risk management, and operations.
  • Formulating audit strategies and recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.
  • Monitoring the implementation of management actions and reporting on their status.
  • Developing risk-based audit plans and conducting interviews to gather relevant information.
  • Utilizing data analytics and advanced technology to provide insights into audit processes.
  • Maintaining high-quality working papers and audit reports that are accurate and timely.
  • Providing advisory services to improve the effectiveness of internal controls in business processes.
  • Implementing automated auditing processes to strengthen data integrity checks.
  • Overseeing the performance of junior staff, providing direction and feedback on their performance.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Audit Specialist position must possess a university degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Science, International Development, or related fields, preferably at the post-graduate level. Additionally, professional qualifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are preferred. The role requires at least 6 years of professional experience in auditing, accounting, finance, banking, or development fields, with a strong technical competence in these areas. Candidates should have first-hand experience in managing various financial risks and a proven track record in developing and implementing automated auditing processes and advanced technology applications.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Audit Specialist position includes a university degree in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Finance, Data Science, or International Development. A post-graduate degree is preferred, along with professional certifications like CIA, CFA, FRM, or CPA, which demonstrate a higher level of expertise and commitment to the field of auditing and finance.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 6 years of professional experience in auditing, accounting, finance, banking, or development sectors. Candidates should have substantial technical competence in these areas, with specific experience in auditing risk management, treasury, and credit processing for both sovereign and non-sovereign operations. Experience in a multilateral development bank is preferred, as is familiarity with various financial risks such as market, liquidity, and credit risk.

Languages:
