This collaboration aims to promote the Sustainable Development Goals through initiatives like the Samsung Global Goals app and the Generation17 initiative, which focuses on youth empowerment and education. Interns will work remotely for approximately 20 hours per week over a period of 8-10 weeks, supporting various activities related to these initiatives. The role requires a self-starter who can adapt to a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong attention to detail and advanced writing skills. Candidates with a background or interest in communication, particularly those fluent in Spanish and/or French, are preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will assist in various tasks related to the Generation17 initiative and the UNDP x Samsung partnership. Responsibilities include supporting the call for applications for the new Generation17 cohort, developing communication content in English, creating high-quality visual materials such as PowerPoint presentations and structured Excel sheets, and collaborating with the Youth Engagement Coordinator to produce the Monthly Opportunities Digest. Interns will also help identify engagement opportunities for young leaders, update website content, collect videos and blogs for the Samsung Global Goals app content update, and develop social media copy and visual assets for related initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with digital media skills to create effective online content. Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in Spanish and/or French is highly desirable. Knowledge of other UN languages is also welcomed. Interns should be prepared to work across different time zones and be available outside of standard working hours to support global operations.
Educational Background: Applicants must meet one of the following academic requirements: be enrolled in a relevant graduate program, be in the final year of a bachelor's degree program, or have graduated within the past year. A certification from the educational institution regarding the applicant's enrollment or graduation status is required at the time of application.
Experience: While prior professional work experience is not mandatory for this internship, candidates with strong written and verbal communication skills, experience in content creation, and skills in reviewing and editing proposals are encouraged to apply. The internship is designed to provide valuable experience and exposure to the workings of a global organization.
Languages: Fluency in English is required, with Spanish and/or French as preferred additional languages. Knowledge of other UN languages is considered an asset.
