Job Overview: The Senior Officer, Technical Partnerships at the IRC is tasked with leading the integration of various internal teams to foster the growth and development of strategic business opportunities, particularly in private fundraising. This role is pivotal in overseeing a portfolio that includes key funding priorities, which may evolve over time. The Senior Officer will play a crucial role in driving the IRC’s ambitious Impact @ Scale plans and will be part of agile team models that support this initiative. The position is situated within the Program Services team, which aims to provide high-value fundraising teams with exceptional support through a unified service model. The ideal candidate should possess an entrepreneurial spirit and have demonstrated experience in global Protection programming, strategic partnership development, programming, fundraising, and communications, while effectively collaborating with global, cross-cultural teams.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Officer will work closely with high-value fundraisers, Global Practice Leads, in-country technical experts, and support teams to enhance the visibility and revenue of Protection programming and other priority areas at the IRC. Key responsibilities include: 1) Influencing and guiding strategic private-sector engagement across fundraising priorities, including developing and implementing business development strategies, overseeing the creation of strategic positioning materials, and enhancing donor engagement plans. 2) Providing high-level advisory support to Global Practice Leads and fundraising teams, maintaining a portfolio of support for key priority areas, and collaborating with technical leads to develop compelling materials for diverse audiences. 3) Supporting the creation of stewardship plans for donors and leading proposal development processes for Protection and other priority areas. 4) Engaging in internal coordination to develop standard workflows for cross-functional projects and ensuring timely follow-up on decisions made in meetings. 5) Managing strategic partnerships throughout the grant duration, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and providing post-award project management support as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess 6-7 years of relevant work experience, ideally within a large International Non-Governmental Organization, focusing on programs, fundraising, and advocacy. They should have outstanding communication, relationship management, writing, and presentation skills, along with experience in global protection programming in low-resource settings. Familiarity with fundraising and grants management processes is essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and lay audiences. A proven track record in delivering sophisticated proposals and projects is also required.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in international development, social work, or a related field is required, or equivalent professional experience. A Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience is considered a bonus, enhancing the candidate's profile for this role.
Experience: The position requires substantial experience in strategic partnership development, design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design, fundraising, and communications channels. Candidates should have a history of working with global, cross-cultural teams and demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt to technical content and strategy related to protection programming.
Languages: While English is mandatory, knowledge of additional IRC languages such as Spanish, French, or Arabic would be advantageous, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and partners.
Additional Notes: This role may allow for remote work and may require occasional travel. If working remotely, candidates must have a suitable home or alternate workspace to effectively perform their duties during regular hours. Compensation varies based on factors such as labor market conditions, job type, internal equity, and budget considerations. The US pay range for this position is between $95,000 and $106,000, while the UK pay range is between £55,000 and £64,00
