Job Overview: The position involves the automation of notifications related to contamination and cancellation of organic certification within the GUIA system. The contractor will be responsible for developing and implementing automated processes that ensure timely and accurate notifications are sent out to relevant stakeholders. The contractor will work closely with the UNDP team to ensure that the automation aligns with organizational standards and meets the needs of users. The contractor will need to manage their time effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze the current notification processes within the GUIA system to identify areas for automation.
Design and develop automated notification workflows that comply with UNDP standards.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure the automation meets their needs.
Test the automated processes to ensure functionality and reliability before full implementation.
Provide training and support to users on the new automated notification system.
Monitor the performance of the automated notifications and make adjustments as necessary.
Document all processes and provide reports on the automation project progress.
Respond to any queries or issues that arise during the implementation phase.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in process automation, particularly in governmental or organizational settings.
Strong technical skills in programming and software development related to automation tools.
Familiarity with the GUIA system or similar systems used for managing certifications and notifications.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify automation opportunities.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required. A master's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area will be considered an asset. Additional certifications in process automation or project management may also be beneficial.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in process automation or software development is required. Experience working with governmental organizations or international development agencies is preferred. Familiarity with the specific context of organic certification processes will be an advantage.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the project will be conducted in Ecuador. Proficiency in English is desirable but not required. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset.
Additional Notes: The contract duration is for 176 effective working days within a total of 270 calendar days. This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and candidates may be recruited nationally or internationally. Compensation will be based on the UNDP salary scale for individual contractors, and benefits may include health insurance and other allowances as per UNDP policies.
