Job Overview:
The position of Conductor at WFP involves providing efficient and safe transportation services for authorized personnel and/or goods. The role is crucial in ensuring that WFP's operations run smoothly, particularly in the Cusco region of Peru. The Conductor will be responsible for adhering to safety regulations and protocols while transporting staff and materials, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of WFP's mission. This position requires not only driving skills but also the ability to assist with basic administrative tasks, making it a multifaceted role that supports both logistical and operational needs. The Conductor will work under the supervision of the Head of the Cusco Sub Office, ensuring that all transportation activities align with WFP's standards and contribute to the organization's overall goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Conductor's primary responsibilities include providing transportation services for authorized personnel, which may involve translating simple conversations between the local language and other languages as needed. The Conductor will also be responsible for picking up and delivering various items, adhering to an authorized itinerary while following United Nations safety regulations. Additional duties include welcoming official personnel and visitors at the airport, assisting with visa processing and customs formalities to ensure a smooth and secure arrival. The Conductor must maintain accurate vehicle records and report daily on the vehicle's mechanical condition to ensure efficient fuel consumption and cost-effectiveness. Keeping the assigned vehicle and related equipment clean and in good condition is essential, as is performing timely maintenance and reporting any mechanical issues to the supervisor. The Conductor will also follow established protocols for deliveries and accidents, ensuring that any issues are reported immediately to facilitate informed decision-making. Beyond driving duties, the Conductor may be required to perform basic office tasks such as filing, photocopying, and maintaining order in storage areas, as well as delivering or picking up various items and handling mail services. Other tasks may be assigned by the supervisor or representative as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a complete secondary education and hold a valid driver's license for the assigned vehicle, preferably a type A-2 license. A minimum of two years of work experience as a driver is desirable, with a preference for candidates who have experience working with international organizations, embassies, or within the United Nations system. A proven track record of safe driving in various conditions is essential, along with experience driving different types of vehicles, including vans and trucks. Defensive driving experience is also valued. Candidates should have knowledge of driving regulations, protocols, and local road conditions, as well as safety-related issues. Basic first aid skills and the ability to assist in emergencies are important, along with proficiency in using communication devices such as radios and emails. A customer-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, and tact are essential qualities for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a completed secondary education. Candidates must also possess a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle they will be operating, adhering to local regulations. A preference for candidates with a type A-2 license indicates a higher level of driving qualification, which is beneficial for the role.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least two years of relevant work experience as a driver. Experience in international organizations, embassies, or the United Nations system is highly desirable. Languages:

This position is offered under a Service Contract (SC) for a duration of 9 months, with the possibility of extension. The salary level for this role is classified under the National Scale for Service Contracts, specifically SC
