Job Overview: The Financial Analyst III position is crucial for supporting a portfolio of projects, particularly the STRengthening Infectious disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) Activity. This role is designed to enhance the financial operations of various projects by ensuring fiscal responsibility and compliance with donor requirements. The Financial Analyst will coordinate financial monitoring, provide guidance to country offices, and conduct thorough analyses of financial data. The position requires a proactive approach to financial management, where the analyst will not only manage budgets ranging from $1-20 million but also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the financial success of the projects. The role involves interpreting financial data, resolving discrepancies, and providing technical assistance to country-based staff, making it essential for the analyst to possess advanced analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Financial Analyst III will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: coordinating financial operations for multiple projects, conducting budget analyses, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. The analyst will create, review, and monitor budgets, assist in subaward management, and provide financial technical assistance to country staff. Responsibilities also include processing invoices, analyzing complex financial challenges, and producing financial reports and models. The analyst will document unique financial issues, implement and enhance financial tools and systems, and serve as a trusted advisor to management. Additionally, the role requires the ability to work independently with minimal direction, participate in setting objectives, and recommend decisions regarding financial operations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or its international equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered. The position requires advanced knowledge of U.S. Government grants, contracting, and auditing standards, as well as acquisition principles and financial contract management. Excellent analytical and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff. Proficiency in spreadsheet software is required, and experience in the NGO, government, or private sector is preferred.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field is required. Experience: The position requires a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, and operational management.
