Job Overview: The Project Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager in the effective and timely implementation of the project aimed at enhancing climate governance in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This position involves providing technical and operational support, ensuring high-quality outputs for project activities, and coordinating closely with various stakeholders, including the EE Sector Leader and Programme Associate. The Project Analyst will be responsible for integrating project activities into national policies and plans, preparing annual work plans, and supervising personnel involved in project execution. The role also includes monitoring and evaluating project deliverables, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and promoting gender equality throughout project activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Analyst will be responsible for a variety of functions, including:
Supporting the coordination, design, and implementation of project activities, ensuring alignment with national policies.
Preparing annual work plans and guiding the formulation and review of these plans.
Providing guidance on technical specifications for project outputs and supervising personnel and subcontractors.
Organizing project activities such as workshops and publications, and ensuring effective communication with national partners.
Ensuring timely submission of reports to stakeholders and maintaining knowledge management practices.
Mainstreaming gender considerations in all project activities and ensuring effective dissemination of project achievements.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Environment, Chemical Engineering, Climate Science, Climate Governance, or related fields. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in these areas combined with two years of relevant experience will be considered. Applicants with a Master’s degree are not required to have prior professional experience, while those with a Bachelor’s degree must have at least two years of relevant experience in project implementation at the national or international level. Desirable criteria include experience with national and local stakeholders, knowledge of Bosnia and Herzegovina's regulatory frameworks, and familiarity with climate finance instruments.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Environment, Chemical Engineering, Climate Science, Climate Governance, or related disciplines is required. A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in the mentioned areas, combined with two years of qualifying experience, will also be considered. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of climate governance and project implementation in the context of sustainable development.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in project implementation for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree. Those with a Master’s degree are not required to have prior work experience. Experience in cooperation with national and local stakeholders, particularly in the context of development or donor-funded projects, is highly desirable. Familiarity with climate finance instruments and experience in multi-stakeholder coordination are also beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, along with proficiency in Bosnian and/or Croatian and/or Serbian. This linguistic capability is essential for effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders involved in the project.
